"My prediction of gyms for the next 5 to 10 years"

New Year is the beginning and the end of many resolutions that fitness clubs across the country will try to capitalize on to make profits to be visible on the economic map. Pretty soon fitness clubs will be like people's New Year's resolutions to where the beginning of the end is near for them, and in the next 5 to 10 years you will see a decline of membership in commercial and private fitness clubs. Few of the reasons for decline membership of fitness clubs in the next 5 to 10 years are more people will find more cheaper ways to get fit like the P90x, and also convenience at their own home with Wii Fit, Xbox kinetics, and other equipment that's affordable.

P90x kills two birds with one stone by offering affordability and convenience. A person would invest less in P90x than a yearly gym membership that includes astronomical fees, and also they have the convenience to workout whenever works best for them instead of having to set their schedule around gym hours that could be difficult for people with families.

In the last decade at least people saw how technology could make shopping convenient for themselves by not having to go to a store like around holiday time, and now technology is also providing a gym to people which allows people to workout on their own time. Wii fit has been out on the market for awhile, and now xbox has released its kinetics to where it requires the how entire body to move. It is only a matter of time until a company has something that connects with resistance equipment like kettlebells, and dumbbells that could be used with kinetics as well. Technology is providing people with convenience that gyms cannot do, so people will no longer have to workout around gym hours.

Gyms will have to rethink its programs, and market strategies to survive against technology to stay alive in the market for the next 5 to 10 years.
