As I woke up this morning my mind was meditating on Matthew 6:33, and Christ says "Seek ye first the kingdom of God." A lot of people today will go out to seek things that do not really matter like materials, relationship, and pleasure. These things they find will not really fulfill their soul, and it just makes them more empty. Now God can use those things for people to draw near to Him, and in Romans 1:20 Paul states that, For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so they are without excuse. Paul in that same chapter goes to tell that people do not choose God, because of their foolishness in their hearts. That foolishness of their hearts are things that this world tells them they need to have to be satisfied. People get deceived listening to that, and at the end they find out that those things do not really matter.
Those things that do not matter are still be chase by people making them like a hamster running on a wheel. They just run in place on circular object that gets them nowhere in life. They see money, fame, bodily pleasures, and relationships as thee ultimate goal in life. Some get there, but others do not get there. To those that get there find out their life did not change, because they are still not satisfied. Their souls are filled, and to those that do not get there end up slaving themselves to the world's standards. People that get there do the same thing, because they are worried that it can all be gone the next day. If you think about it they do not have complete control, even if they can convince themselves they do. A person that has a billion dollar corporation can lose that money the next day without doing anything bad to lose it, but it being tied into the economy relies on efforts of others that cannot be controlled.
So we live in a world that people get deceived on things that matter, and just end up chasing the wind all their lives. Imagine wasting your life on that, and King Solomon could testify to that. He told readers in his book of Ecclesiastes that all the things he had lost its luster, and they end up being meaningless. During his time he was the most wealthiest person ever, and later in life Christ referred to him at His Sermon on the mount. It's recorded in Matthew 6:29 where Christ says "and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of those." Previously before Christ stated that He was saying that His father cared enough for the lilies to grow, and not even King Solomon's glory can be compare to that. Now Christ use those comparisons to show us how much God cares for us, and He does want to fulfill your soul. But, people chose things of this world out of foolishness of their hearts. They want to do things there way, because they think their plan is better than God's plan. They also do not want to be judge, so they are saying to God that they are god of their lives. Yet the things they do are not filling their soul, but making it more emptier. Their world they desire are making their souls more empty as they continue to live in it, and their burdens get heavier as they worry about not making it for tomorrow. Christ tells his disciples, and multitudes do not worry what to drink, eat, and wear. For those are the things that Gentiles worried about, and Christ tells them that His father knows they need these things. See if the father provides for things that He does not desire a relationship with, than think how much He will provide to those He desires a relationship with? Those are people that reject a relationship with Him to continue to live in their world, so they continue to carry their burdens to find out later in life that those things do not matter. Christ says things on earth will be rust, or thieves will confiscate it like the government. Christ wants us to lay our treasures in Heaven where it will not rust, and thieves cannot confiscate it.
You see God wants to give His children things, but He wants us to seek Him first. Once we find Him, than we will realize that God is all that matters, and He is the only one that can fulfill our soul. Once our soul is fulfill, than things of this world will not really matter. We can see the rights things of it provided by Him, which is why God is all that matters.
