“Skate-board And Marijuana”

This morning the pastor was sharing that a young person had skateboard accident that put it into a coma, and I was thinking like most in the congregation that’s awful. Everyone, including myself, hopes that person gets better, but I had sometime to think about it to type my thoughts on it. I am now thinking about that person to ask myself these two questions about the cause of the coma. Those questions are was it cause of the skateboard, or was it cause of a choice to do something risky like skate-boarding that  cause the coma?
Let’s state the fact that skate-boarding is dangerous to ride, but people ride them anyways knowing that fact.Even with government regulation to protect skateboarders, it is still dangerous, because there are still circumstances that cannot be control that can still harm the rider. Even again the fact skateboarding is dangerous cause it could do bodily harm that could result in death even with safety regulations it is still legal to do, and federal government has not band it from the free market. Yet marijuana, or any illegal drug, is illegal to use in most states, and some people could argue that skateboarding is just as dangerous if not more than smoking marijuana.
I think skateboarding should be legal along with illegal drug usage, because people have the right in taking risks that could harm their body. Making skateboarding legal, and not marijuana is not being consistent with our Constitution. Both products of skateboard, and illegal drugs have same risks to the human body. Yet people would use them for same reason in giving themselves thrills, even if both products could cause bodily harms.
Now I do not skateboard, use illegal drugs, or hardly use drugs except taking an aspirin for a head ache. Now people can abuse legal drugs just as much as illegal drugs, but one of the things that make certain drugs illegal is that it could bring bodily harm to that person. Again so does skateboarding, but it is not illegal. Even with safety regulations people that skateboard could still harm themselves, so comparing skate-boarding to smoking pot shows inconsistency of our laws that does not reflect our constitution.
The only way to make skateboarding completely safe is to make it illegal, but people would still do it just like people using illegal drugs. Making skateboarding illegal would be unconstitutional just like banned of certain drugs, and again both products do cause bodily harm.
Remember it was the founders of this country that signed the Constitution that it was not the government’s right to tell a person on what they can, or cannot do with their body. Roles of our federal government are to protect us from foreign invaders, and they are failing that. Just take a look at our borders, and next role is to protect us from counterfeiting. Again they failed in that as well, and last role was to protect us from treason. That’s another thing failed to do, and I can speculate that maybe at least 90% of our leaders at local, state, legislative, judicial, and executive have sold their country out.
