I first came across the term worldview when I was in high school, and that was over a decade ago. Since than I have come across it many times, and once again this year I have a course that will talk about worldview. My paper in that class will be asking me how I would define my worldview. I want to state an honest answer, but keep from stating it like a Sunday School answer. To this in my mind I try to think of what would I compare life to, because I believe view of life is starting point to state a person's worldview. I always thought of life like a game, but major difference in life that ends in death.
In a game there are players, judges, rules, outcomes of winning, and losing. In life there are humans, a creator, His rules, and outcomes of choices humans make. These outcomes are dividing line for humans that separate them into winners, and losers. Comparing life to a game is a starting point of defining my worldview, and to clearly state that I need to imagine a scenario to continue to develop my stated worldview.
In my mind I like God to lead me to a mountain top to view the entire world, and He would ask me what do I see? I would this world in distance that comes off to me being peaceful, but magnifying it I would see some people being busy. I would see some of them not being busy, I would see some of them being still, and I would some of them moving. I would need to magnify it more to see what their purposes are, that would create questions. Those questions are why are some busy, why are some not busy, why are some being still, and why are some not being still? Do people know where they are going, or do they where this world is going? Do they even care, or do they not care?
From these questions I would say life is like a treasure hunt that people will discover its purpose, or they will not.
